These boots are made for walking… across the Peak District!
This September, team PASS are to complete a 25km trek in support of The Care Workers’ Charity.
Here at PASS, we are delighted to share that five members of the team will set off on a Peak District challenge on Friday 16th September 2022 in order to fundraise for a cause and partner very close to our hearts: The Care Workers’ Charity.
Our team from across Sales, Implementation, Customer Services and Product will take on the nationally renowned and treasured landscape of the Peak District with a 1-day, 25km trek and in amongst their training schedule they will be working hard to achieve their total fundraising target of £1,500 (£300 per person).
The Care Workers’ Charity are an incredibly important cause who support those dedicating their lives to caring for others, showing true acts of kindness and compassion on a daily basis. Their mission is to advance the financial, professional and mental wellbeing of social care workers by offering financial grants, signposting them to relevant resources and providing access to essential services.
“We are very grateful to the PASS team for participating in this exciting challenge. Every £500 raised means that one care worker can get support from us. We hope that the team will have a great time on the Trek” Karolina Girlich, CEO of The Care Workers’ Charity.
At present, there are nearly 2 million care workers in the UK who care for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Care workers often give additional time, above and beyond their contracted hours, to support those they care for and in many cases undertake much physical work during their shifts. As a result, this can lead to long-term illness or required periods of break, sometimes causing financial hardship. This is where The Care Workers’ Charity lends that crucial helping hand to those in need and thank goodness they do.
