PASSsystem DEVICE SUPPORT POLICY FOR ANDROID

This page contains simple instructions on how to update your Android software for best use of The PASSsystem.

Please note that as of 31st Jan 2017 PASSsystem will no longer be supported on devices running versions of Android prior to 4.4. Earlier device versions might still run The PASSsystem app without issues, but everyLIFE may not be able to provide you with support in the event of any issues.

Your employees using PASSsystem on mobile or tablet should follow these guidelines to ensure they remain on a supported device.

STEP 1

Follow these instructions to check what version you’re on:

  1. Tap ‘Settings’
  2. Tap ‘About Device’ or ‘About Phone’
  3. Tap ‘Software Information’ (Depending on your device this step may not be necessary)

If the Android version is 4.4 or later, you’re okay for now. If it displays an earlier version, go to Step 2, below.

STEP 2

Follow these instructions to check for updates on your phone:

  1. Tap ‘Settings’
  2. Tap ‘About Device’ or ‘About Phone’
  3. Tap ‘Update Centre’ (Depending on your device this step may not be necessary)
  4. Tap ‘Software Update’
  5. Tap ‘Update Now’ or ‘Check Now For Update’

If updates are available to move your device onto Android 4.4 or above, download and install them. You’re done.

If updates are not available, go to Step 3.

STEP 3

Contact your mobile provider:

Discuss your options for upgrading your device. Many providers offer a free upgrade after a period of time. When choosing a new device, ensure that it meets the following recommended specification:

  • Minimum 1GB RAM
  • Android 6 or above
