Don’t settle for reporting when you can have INSIGHT
Introducing INSIGHT dashboards with PASSsystem 20:20 Edition.
In the UK, we’ve been discussing personalisation for well over a decade, but somehow we still have very little to show for it. Everybody knows it’s the right way to go, but how on earth do you define it? How do you measure it? How do you possibly begin to commission against it?
We all agree that personalisation means choice, and an ability to make decisions about your own care. Our many thousands of care receivers are simply normal people trying to live their day-to-day lives in the ways they wish. Historically, care receivers, providers and commissioners (whether central or private) have relied upon the skill and compassion of individual care workers in this respect. The thing is, anecdotal conversations and hand-written care notes are simply far too inefficient and far too slow to allow anything other than time and task to be the measures of the care we deliver. As a result, we have been stuck in a solely quantity-based care system.
Digital care planning has literally turned this all on its head. It is now entirely possible to make sure that 'Mrs Jones' is receiving all her essentials in terms of her food, fluids and medications, whilst at the same time building the perfect care plan around her happiness.
It is now possible to set and, critically, to measure entirely qualitative goals alongside the quantitative necessities. It is now easy to track progression along an individual outcome-focussed journey and to do so in real time. This means that care may be commissioned and measured and paid for upon the basis of entirely subjective personal goals and preferences, rather than simply the number of minutes spent on site.
This approach can actually save money for the commissioner and the care provider because effort is far better targeted.
PASSsystem 20:20 Edition in 2019: Creating Happiness. Saving Money.
The PASSsystem has proved completely intuitive to use, even for the least technical care assistant – a revelation.
My Supervisors no longer spend 65% of their time in the office typing up notes taken at assessment meetings – they do it once with the customer, and get it right from the outset. My Supervisors now spend 90% of their time out in the community – better care, improved support for care workers, and more assessments.
We saw the service had made improved use of information through the implementation of The PASSsystem for assessing the quality of the service provided, including the consistency of care provided to individuals. The PASSsystem has the potential to provide the service with a greater range of information which can be utilised for Quality Assurance. This will include outcomes and tasks completed and missed. Operational statistics will include reviews and staff supervision as well as analysis of nutritional and hydration information entered by staff.
The system reduces the time and cost of setting up care plans for patients going home from hospital by 50%. This has delivered a £20K saving to my bottom line.
By listening carefully to the care industry, everyLIFE have developed a solution that greatly helps join up the provision of customer-centred care. They are on a mission to bring the much needed technical answers to the business challenges we are all facing. I very much look forward to seeing the new functionality they have in the next release and beyond.
I implemented The PASSsystem in three weeks and my customers are already seeing the benefits in quality of care.
It’s easy to use and with the training provided, all staff like the system. Any office implementing it will save a substantial amount of supervisor time.
